APT AT “UNCOVERING SYNERGIES: A DESIGN CHARETTE”

For the universal pre-kindergarten (UPK) program, spearheaded by Major de Blasio, APT was invited to participate in the “Uncovering Synergies: A Design Charette”, on June 12, 2014. The program was organized to discover how to create UPK spaces in public branch libraries.

During the NYCDDC/AIANY event, Anna Torriani and Lorenzo Pagnamenta discussed and designed, with selected participants, potential UPK spaces, in or around existing branch libraries.

Findings were discussed in October 2014, and the UPK program, launched in September 2014, has provided 53,000 children access to free, full day pre-K in New York City.
